A bit about me:

Bonjour! I’m Marie, a User Researcher and Experience Designer.

I built a career for a good 10 years in the start-up world as a Growth expert: commercial development, discoveries, events, growth marketing, growth hacking. And was pretty successful at it! So much so that Amazon hired me to develop a new department in the UK/I.

But it came a time when I had to sit back and look at what was missing in all of this (a global pandemic would definitely let you have this time to think…!).

I found a whole new world in UX; it just clicked: I want to be part of the decision-making process before the product goes live. I want to get under the skin of what users really want. I’ve always been passionate about people, what makes them tick, what influences them, the whys and whats of their likes and dislikes, and how they think. This was a match made in heaven!

So I went back to school in my mid-30s (I was not scared at all 😩, thanks for asking) and learned everything I could. I got accredited by the Glasgow University in UX and began this brand new journey.

I started freelancing on projects to gain experience and expertise. I then started to work for a media agency, which allowed me to work on brands like Nespresso, Pampers and several other projects to bring innovation, creativity, but most importantly a user-centric approach and problem solving to everything I do with still having this business mindset that relates to the client and internal stakeholders. Today, I work for a Cyber Security company as the lead Product Designer. Bringing a complex product to life is a challenge that I welcome with open arms and aim to remove the complexity of this field to democratise its use and understanding.
